No oil to rocker arms
Hi Jack,
Just replaced my stock GN's timing timing chain. Tho old one looked brand new, not even any wear on the big fiber gear. Lot said for frequent oil changes on a 150,000 mile car. My questions: 1) I used the tentioner with the double roller timing chain, should I have? 2) I replaced the oil pump with a high volume pump and see 60 psi at a t-fitting at the turbo but don't see any oil at the rockers. What did I do wrong? Thanks, Bill |

On the oil pressure, if you are just cranking the pump, it will take a while to see any at the rockers, usually only dribble out. We crank the pump with a drill until the oil is flowing out of the rockers, but like I said, it may not be much. Once you run it, you'll see more. let me know..

Sorry for the delay in replying! Seems I didn't have enough patients in waiting for the oil to come up to the rockers. I did oil the rockers but didn’t wait long enough. (Lifters didn't tick but I was still nervous.) For the time being I’m going to leave the timing chain tensioner on.
Thnks, Bill |
