Default Fiberglass/carbon fiber hood

Where is a good source? I haven't looked anywhere yet ( 'cause this site is always my first stop). I want bolt on, so there will be no pins showing. Also, not sure I want to stay with the stock style----kinda thinking about a low 1"-2" cowl to clearence the uppipe/dog house and vent some heat. I'm going to jump on eBay shortly and start poking around. Thanks for any tips!

I got mine from Poston's about 3 years ago, along with the glass bumpers, header panel and aluminum bumper supports, but from what I have seen on TB.com I wouldn't get it from them now....It's too bad they turned out that way, I had gotten pretty good service out of them then.

I thought Year One had glass and carbon fiber hoods but I just looked and they only have a "Glasstek" style glass hood for around $400.00.

I had bought a couple of hoods from them for my Grand Prix when I had it. Bolt on's. They were a nice quality hood. I would have bought the hood and bumpers from them for the GN, but I figured to give the money to a Buick vendor. At that time there weren't any red flags up about Poston so I got it from them.

Default Any luck?

Brian, did you ever find anything? I was doing some searches, but didn't come up with any carbon fiber hoods?

Glasstek makes a caron fiber hood but it is laid over fiberglass....and its $750

Im sure we could find 100% carbon fiber parts if a few committed, figure pricing will be around $800-$1000.Im in for a hood and decklid...

Some one get a group buy together!

Seems our choices for hoods are limited. I wanted a cowl style hood with only a 1" cowl hight, but there is no such animal. Kirban appears to have the best pricing on glass hoods, but he doesn't have what I need. At this point, im going to forget the hood, and do a Baer 4 wheel disc brake install.

Nice! I'm jealous! I think next year I will be upgrading the brakes along with getting some tubular upper and lower front control arms...

No need to be jealous brother. I had planned to include a front upper/lowers with the brake swap ( being how your right there anyway ), but it is a little more than I'm willing to spend at this time. There's always later,I guess. For now, I went w/the 11.3" SDZ 2 piece rotors with 2 piston calipers up front, and 12" SDZ 2 piece rotors with single piston e-brake equipped calipers and shock relocators out back. Thank GOD for tax returns!

My fiberglass hood was made by VFN. It was stock appearing (not a pin on)
