Default What gear should I use for burnouts?

I have been leaving the car in 'd' until I see smoke in third gear and then I release the line lock and spin to the line. Is this correct? I have 2004-R with 3.42 gears and 255-60/15 MT ET Street drag radials.

Best run: 7.08 @ 99.79 (1/8) and 11.010 @ 124.32 with 1.706 60'.
