Default 1987 GN finally getting Cotton-ized

Easter Sunday 2010

Jack and Lorrie came down to my house to pick up my 87 buick so he can work his magic. Definitely a transmission rebuild plus other tricks to make it an even more potent street dominator.

Some shots after pulling GN out of garage for the first time this season

Can't wait to FEEL the difference a professional touch makes !!!!!

Here's some engine shot's , for what they're worth. Nothing too crazy. Have 43 # inj, Walbro 340 , hotwired, chip, LT1 3.5 MAF w/Translator Plus, 10 inch K&N, 3 inch dp, RJ Raceplate, Flowmaster Super 44's , high output coil , Moog progressives, KYB gas, 245/60/15 on 15x8 ARE and 295/50/15 on 15x10 ARE 's. 5% tint all around, A-pillar VDO knock and oil, console VDO water temp and boost guage.

Hopefully, Jack will kick it up a few noticable notches but for the most part I just want a badass boulevard bomber thats reliable.

Definitely will keep the forum updated as to the "butt dyno " results!

The ANTICIPATED "after being Cotton-ized " pic of my 1987 Grand National !! Hopefully, most other drivers, 'cept other GN's, will only get to see THIS view !!!

Hey Brian!

Picked the GN up this morning from Jack! As I expected, Jack went above and beyond my expectations! My main concern was having my 200R4 rebuilt to GN specs. He did a billet . Also installed a new performance chip, an Art Carr tranny cooler, manual boost controller, recharged the AC , oil change, and tune up. We took the GN out for a high speed run and I was very impressed. Jack was not. We went back to the shop and he pulled the new plugs and concluded the engine was running lean at high end. He installed a new fuel filter and after a second highway stomp even he was pleased. My Grand National is not a drag car but now it is a VERY SPIRITED, even MORE fun car to drive. It pulls hard and sounds GREAT and looks pretty good too for a 23 year old vehicle!
