There is certainly more money in it, but I don't believe it's Jack's cup of tea.

It pays the bills, but just think of all of the DMFs that he would have to deal with every day. Spoiled little brats with no sense of ...well, just no sense, and mommy's credit card. Then mommy and daddy would be at Jack's shop complaining that junior babies the car and it shouldn't have blown up, but can't explain why the needle on the tach is stuck at 10,000.

11.3@123mph on 195/75/14" whitewalls. Yes, 195s!
11.2 on the big giant slicks. What's the point? Maybe I'll go back to the whitewalls. They are lighter and have less rolling resistance.

Your not kidding Brian,
A local speed shop got to the point where he wouldnt sell speed parts to anybody under 18. He got a few choice phone calls from mommy & daddy. Basicly didnt want to be bothered with the BS.
Another speed shop I use to buy parts for my truck from was sooo bad with rice I hated going in there. It was great If you were shopping for jillion watt light bulbs or cold air intakes. The place went down hill eventually closed
