Default Lets get this thing running.

Ok jack after i dropped the ball and los it ove a vacuum line being dissconnected, lets see if we can get her running good. Im not going to be able to get the car up there untill either after X mas or after late may next year. Hopefully you can help me out a little here and get it running decent for now.

I have the fuel table (F3) pulled up but in target a/f it says 0.00. It runs strong no knock but i was just wondering about that. It should be about 11.5 correct? How do i change it?

Good, now just remember one thing, when you are checking for vacumn, start the car, pull the hose off in question and put your finger over the end of the hose...

no target AF in the box sounds like a software glitsch. If you go to "view" then "closed loop parameters" then "target a/f" take a look at that table, if you don't see any "00.0" in any of the boxes then it is a software glisch.. the fast is working, you should be seeing "O2 correction" and your "actual a/f" should be in the ball park of what your "target a/f" is

I went to view, closed loop parameters and the choices are, "a/f ratio table, correction limits, and closed loop paraeters". I clicked on af/ratio table, and the bubble is at 12.5 about 4 rows up on the left. When i start the car, the target a/f ratio in the little box at the bottom of the F3 screen is 13.5 and the actual is between 10.94 and 11.2 at idle. On the closed loop parameter a/f ratio table, the bubble is now floating at 13.5, the target afr.

What do i do now? The TPS is straightened out. I think the TV cable was too tight.

Basically, I run the FAST in open loop at idle, usually. If your target is 13.5 and your actual is 10.9-11.2, that's because it is not correcting to 13.5, it's in open loop until 1. the temp is a minimum of 120* and 2. the RPM hits whatever the closed loop setting is at. I usually set closed loop to 1250-1500. Basically oof idle.. Idle a/f is usually around 11.5 to 12.0 in park or neutral. When you put it in gear it will usually lean out to 13.0-13.5. If the idle is smooth, you should be fine, if not, it may be too lean and you have to play with the numbers in the VE table to get the A/F that works best.. make sense?

Yes. Shouldnt my target a/f be around 11.5? 13.5 seems too lean.

It doesn't idle that smooth. Every second or two you get a little miss and it smells pig rich. From what i remember i should go around the bouble about 1 box in each direction and page up. Is this the way to lean it out? Then my actual a/f should change. Thanks!!!

You can change the idle A/F to 11.5-12.0, but it won't matter much as we are in open loop at that RPM. If you are getting the lean skip, adding numbers will richen it up. If you are getting a rich smell, what is your actual A/F? If it is 11.0 or lower, highlite the 9-12 boxes around the bubble and page down to lean it out, page up to richen it. Watch your actual A/F to see what your A/f is while you adjust the numbers. Make sure your plugs are in good condition and not fouled out. That means you have to remove all 6 plugs and look at them...

My actual a/f was 10.9-11.2 but mostly in the 10.9 area. Just changed the plugs. I'll take em out and clean em anyway. I'll get to that tonight and see what we got. Thanks.

Ok i didnt do anything but take it for a drive and when i got back a/f is now 11.5-12.0 in neutral. Everything seems ok. timing is 30-31, no 02 correction, everything seems good.

Next step. Should i take it out on about 15 lbs, log it and post results? I took it out on 25 lbs on 116 and it just doesnt feel strong and pops a little. I get right out of it when its up there.

Yes, I would log it at 15lbs, also, I recommend changing the plugs, not cleaning them.

I just changed the plugs about 10 miles ago. I'll get to the log.
