I really like my ported stockers, and I know they are easily capable of a 9 sec pass. The reason for the change is that they are ported real nice and Jet Hotted, and I don't want to cut them for an external gate ( and I really need an external gate ).

When I was up at the shop, Brian showed me a set of T/A knock off's and ATR Knock off's. They didn't look that bad. He just said he had to cut the ends off of the mating surfaces becuase the metal was so thin and weld new ones on. Also he had to clean the flange ports up a little.

I have a set of older ATR headers that he has there now. I wanted to get them jet hot coated after he makes the downpipe up. I was thinking about getting a set of the knock off T/A's and having him make the downpipe off of them. I don't know what would flow better the ATR's or the T/A's. Brian said he likes making up the down pipe off the T/A's better due to the bend the T/A's make. I think at this point where I am at I'll just leave the ones that I have there and get it over with. I have already made this more of a project than it already was!

What Jet Hot coating do you have on your headers? I was thinking of the high temp sterling they have now. I think it's only good to 1300 degrees tho. Did the coating hold up well for you?

Thanks
Michael

I used Jet Hot 2000 black on the headers. It's been 6 years, and there is not a bit of flaking or discoloration (this stuff is real nice/durable ). On the DP, I had them coat it w/ MC15 silver which looks like Sterling, but is rated @ 1600*. This has held very well for 2 years and still looks freshly coated. On the turbo exhaust housing, I coated that w/ MC15 black. Again that has held up fantastic and still looks like day 1. I will most likely recoat all the new stuff the same.

Cool, thanks for the info! The black must look good on the headers. Got any pics?

I'll see what I can do tomorrow. It's soo cold here, the washer fluid steams when it hits the windsheid.

The down pipe looks fantastic! I also really like the look of the headers. Thanks for the pics! What size turbo is that? Very clean, nice job!

Thanks Mike, and your welcome. I've always been a detail nut---everthing is stainless, and/or coated with something. The turbo is a BB70mm S trim, and makes considerable more power than the BB70mm Q that was on last season. Last I knew, it was the same one Sully is runiing ( Jack, correct me if I'm wrong ). I'm going to switch to a 4 bolt exh housing with a 4" DP and ext T-Netics gate, as my boost is all over the place. I also picked up a Deeds MSBC from Jack last week to replace my Greddy Profec b. I'm feeling real good about this coming season.

I had boost problems too, but I just had the manual boost controller knob and an ATR gate. That 10.43 pass was with a PT 61 @24 pounds of boost, no matter what I did I couldn't turn it up. The next pass is when I broke off a stantion on the d/s head, and then it all began.

I was going to get everything running and then get it to Jack's to get the boost controller put in with the Co2 tank, along with a single 3.5 inch exhaust and lookin at if it's worth to add on to my roll bar or start from fresh. God we can't wait till its done! I haven't driven it since March!
