Default Slow Spool, is it all due to my converter?

Hey Everybody, I've got a little spooling issue.

I have a 6152e, old 2.5" ESP front mount, 50# injectors and progressive alky. The car was a dog off the line with my old TE44 after I installed the Alky but I adjusted that and did much better. I could hold 7psi on the footbrake and launch decent.

Now with the 6152e it is really hard to get the car moving. No spin at the line and a 2.29 60' time. So I got a manual boost controller and it has helped me get at least 1-2 psi at the line before the green lights will drop but it still dogs at launch until I get around 10-12 psi, then slams right to 26 psi and we are cruising.

My times were 12.88 @ 114.18 and a 12.85 @ 114.08

I think I went through the 1/8th at 90-91mph.

So I'm real happy with the trap speeds, just not happy with the 60' times being I think this car can get 11's but I hope the only thing it needs is a 3200-3400 converter.

I'd hate to throw money at it, do the converter only to find it still doesn't spool right.

So, my question is with my current setup, do you think a Pats 12" 2800 restalled D5 is really holding me back about a second in the 1/4? I knew I would break 11 with this converter as the car is now but I thought I'd be 3-5 tenths quicker than the 12.8's.

Makes me what my TE44 back because I know with the way the car is running now along with the alky and front mount I could probably run faster ET than I am now. Should have raced it in that setup before I sold the turbo and switched to the 6152e. Bet I would have been dang close to an 11.

What size is your exhaust housing?

Hmmm... I figured you would have a bigger housing and that was the reason it might have been taking longer to spool. It is possible that the converter has to be looser. Do you have a scanmaster? Maybe too fat on the bottom end?

yeah a 3400 stall converter would work, I'm just curious if it would make a 1 second difference in ET. I figured I'd be slow to spool with the 2800. I did pull out 5% fuel and my O2s are 785-810. 114mph should be good for high 11s, just doesn't seem like it would all be converter.

If you don't have any exhaust leaks before the turbo, I would think the converter needs to be loosened up. That .63 PTE housing can be a bear for spool up. Work your fueling down low, but converter is my thoughts.
