FAST issue
Hey Jack, Phil Bassage here in NY. I've got an issue with the FAST system you sold me. I'm getting a "com port open" when I try to connect. Where do I start to look?? Thanks in advance, Phil.

If you are using Vista/USB you will have to set up a virtual com port to get it to recognize the adapter.

Windows 98 I'm using a com port. It worked fine last year, this was the first time I plugged it in this year, and it came up with this message. Phil

My bad it is Windows 2000.

Car starts, runs fine. I checked the cable, ok. I'll check the orange wire near the battery tonite. Thanks, Jack. I'll keep you posted. You going to BG?? Phil

It might also be a good idea to upgrade to Windows XP......just a suggestion though...

Have you solved this yet?
I just had an issue with mine. Are you using the USB adapter? My USB device changed to be setup on Com 7. FAST only uses Com1-Com4. I just had to change it back to Com1, in the device manager. |
I haven't had a chance to try it again, yet. I was going to re-load C-com onto my laptop. I'll keep you posted. Phil.

OK, finally got a few minutes to mess with it. I checked the orange ECM wire under the hood, ok. Tried all 4 ports, no difference. The car runs great, I just want to get to tuning.Any ideas?? Comes up "com open failed". By the way, it was nice to finally get to meet you Jack, and Brian down in rain soaked BG. I can't find my C-Com disc, I was going to re-load it on my laptop. You wouldn't have one I could borrow? Or is this something I can get online. Thanks, Phil.
