Roll cage "side bar" question...

1 Attachment(s)
Jack, as you know, I have a 6pt roll bar in my GN with swing-out side bars (which have a mechanism that sometimes tend to get stuck...)
But now that we got my to run into the 9's, I know that I'll probably have to go with a cage to be NHRA legal. My question is this: Instead of having a regular side bar (swing-out or not), can I have a fixed "X" brace instead (like the one shown below of "GUMBO'S blue T-Type I saw last spring at your b-b-q party...) ? I'm slowly making myself to the idea of having a cage done and I'd prefer the "X" over a single bar, but is it going to pass tech inspection?...I guess Brian shouldn't have any problem fabricating one like that...:o

Thanks,

Claude. :)

P.S: Is the lower horizontal bar (close to the car's door sill) mandatory ?...not sure...

Thanks Jack for telling me about this "X side bar" thing on the phone today...;) When the time comes to do my cage, that's what I'll have installed. :)

Also, are there some other guys here who have an "X side bar" in their car and could post pictures?...
Thank you,

Claude. ;)
