It was another fun family day with Lorrie, Brian and myself getting up at 4am and making the trec down to Atco for some last runs. We replaced the trans and converter friday along with stepping up the tires from 28's to 29.5's, jacked the front end up and made some adjustments with the rear suspension. We've been working with the MSBC boost controller, figuring out the ramps and working the multiple boost stages. Trying to get down a tricking track in this weather is a trip in this weather. Brian got some really valuable seat time and did a fabulous job driving the Pumpkin. We made the 1st pass with 3 stages of boost turned down pretty much to get a feel for the track running a 9.1 @ 153mph. Not bad, 60ft sucked but seemed better at the splits than 2 weeks ago. nudged the boost up the second pass and lost the MSD box coming out of the burnout... we recovered and threw the by-pass plug in and attempted the pass without the 2 step but to no avail, he spun hard in 2nd and lifted. The third pass, we took tons of boost out set up 4 stages of boost and Brian got down the track with another 9.1 @ 154plus.. he really did a great job driving, the 60ft was coming around, improving to a 1.41, which still sucks but beats the heck out of the 1.50 we've been seeing the last several times out. Bottom line, I had hoped for better but considering the track, we have lots of good data to work with and look forward to coming out in the spring with a vengence...

Huber was the man of the day, running his 1st 10 second pass, big congrats go out to him and Pauly, great job. I remember well hitting those milestones and the feeling is almost numbing when it happens.. Seeing the Magna boys out in force enjoying the racing without any BS is just another joy of the Buick community. We may have to look into running in their class next year, as they exemplify my idea of what this is really all about.. having fun with class!!!

Really sounds like you guys had a great day all things considered. What converter did you end up using? PTC? If so, what do you think? Are you still running the 3.42's? I was just wondering in my case if that would increase my trap rpm (if I went to a bigger gear) or is it @ 6450 because of the boost level that i'm running? Or I guess it could be the converter too. Sorry to Hijack the thread!:p

Damn winter time....too much time to think!:D

It turned out to be a great day for me, Jack! I've been digging for that 10.xx this season. I knew it was there and had Pauly help me find it!! The head gaskets I got from you are holding up just fine!!!
