4" downpipe.....

Ok guys, this is the SS pipe we are making for Brian H. We also are reworking a set of the SS CHina TA Perf. headers. The following are pictures of Brians car and getting set up... in the shop.

Here's some pics of the headers as we began the process of 2 days plus, modifing and making the flanges lines up, welding and porting the port inlets, then replacing the v-band garbage with real v-band kits. We also replaced the 3bolt flange with a 4 bolt T4 flange

http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/g...anHines025.jpg

http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/g...anHines026.jpg

the lone port on the end is the one needing the most work, welding up one side and porting the other, elongating the stud holes

Next, we decided to cut open the log across from each exhaust tube, it wasn't pretty and as you can see, we did a bit of port work then weld the plate back in...

here's the 2 ports closest to the crossover flange, cyl # 4,6

Nice attention to detail! The inside of those headers were a mess before the massaging.

That will be the easy part Mike. Thanks for the use of the housing, and for all the nice comments. I enjoyed talking with you Saturday, and hope to get together some more. Do you go to the Nats at E-town in June? We never miss it.

No problem, it couldn't have gone to a nicer guy. We enjoyed taking too, and as far as the nationals go, as long as it isn't the 26th we shoiuld be good to go. It's our daughter Samantha's 1st birthday!

BrianHynes 02-29-2008 01:14 AM

It's the weekend of June 20,21,22. We usually bring our campers to Freehold. We have some friends there, and it's 15 minutes to the track. I love NITRO!

XxDarkSidexX 07-29-2008 06:56 AM

a good friend and great doctor helped me with a set just like cottons, awhile ago too when they were only $250. i had to get the same exact work done the porting was horrible but the steel was a great price. ported it all and added some nice vbands for less then half the cost of SS t/a's. great job COTTONS! fit my 3.5" for $250 as well jussst fine :)

Was lookin at this thread for the first time and must say Brian does some really nice DP's. I'm really leaning towards bringing my car there for a DP.

Thanks brett, yes Brian has become an excellent fabricater and welder. If you like his DP's you should see his cages... :)

Yea I saw some of his cage work here on the forum. Kid got some skillz for sure. Nice tight fitting. I think his DP's are some of the best I have seen.

Jack how does that GT-K 72 DBB compare to the HPQ 70 DBB? Is there a big difference in power or spoolup? And what is the price difference? Thanx

I'd put them in about the same category performance wise. Give a huge edge to the GTK in pricing.. about $500.00

GNBRETT 09-10-2008 10:38 PM

Ok thanx. That $500.00 savings sure makes me lean more towards that Turbonetics 72. Is there any plans for an upgraded version of that model? Maybe in a billet wheel?

BrianHynes 09-19-2008 10:58 PM

Brian, I'm heading down to Shreveport LA. to tune on some customer cars, when I get back Monday, give me a call. We'll figure out some way to hook up and do some tuning with you. We finally got Martain's car to NED and got a few passes in, did alittle tweaking and sent him back to canada. Car ran excellent, just need to put some tires on it... :)
