Shutting off ...

Hey Jack ; How was your time in Florida ? Punta Gorda ? [Fat Point] Anyway I have a problem ... when I drive the Buick over bumps on the road the whole thing shuts down ... Where do I start ? Alternator , computer connections ? I also notice that the Boost control light goes on and off while driving . What do you think Jack ? Thanks Tu Hermano

If you are refering to the boost cntroller ( ie. Deeds), are you sure the lights are going on and off, or are they going from bright to dim? The Deeds unit has an auto dimmer and can flicker bright to dim whaen going down the road----- depending on outside lighting. As for the shutting off issue, the first thing I would check would be all the engine grounds.

Hey Angel.... .... heading to Fl today... for tuning

Brian is right on, the brightness changes with the outside light. Just check the main power wires and grounds, down at the starter solenoid.. battery, grounds on the back of the head... whatever you can find, something is loose or grounding out.. let us know.

Yeah, check I think the same.
I would look for the ground cable., and check the positive cable make sure that it isn't shorting out near the downpipe. Check that first, because that could cause a fire. That's bad.
Also, here is something I just came across. It wasn't a TR, but a GM, so it applies.
I had a Cutlass and the starter solenoid was shorting out internally. The car would cut out everytime that you touched the gas. When the motor moved, it moved the cable enough to make the connection at the solenoid move, and it would cut right out. Everything would just shut off like someone threw a switch. It was weird, but a new starter fixed it.
