I never posted any of my body shop pics before Jack got the car. Here are some of the first round pics of our car at the body shop. (Its in there again now getting repainted:rolleyes:)

Is it being repainted AGAIN?...Seemed ok to me last time I saw it!...;)...well, I understand that sometimes, when it's your own car, there are some little "things" you see that others (like me!:D) don't really notice...

See 'ya!

Claude. :)

P.S: I read your signature, and your setup is very, very similar to what I'll be getting this coming spring (except for a T/A block and 200-4R with an Art Carr converter...)...Can't wait!...:D

trbochrgd1 03-05-2009 04:23 PM

Thanks Claude! Your car fly's now! I can't wait to see what you'll be turning this year! I would kill to have that T/A block. :D Looking forward to seeing you guys at the track!:)

I wasn't happy with the way the d/s door came out around the door lock and there was something going on with the paint on the deck lid, roof and the sail panels. It should be going into the spray booth tonight and getting painted Friday. They are finishing the rest of the prep work today.

Here are some pics I took yesterday at the body shop.

Unfortunetly not:rolleyes:.... I did move it from the body repair building to the front paint shop building on Friday. The windows are coming out, bumpers, hood, lights etc. From that point it will get rolled in the spray booth. He said Monday, but I'm thinking Tues, or Wed. Thanks for asking!:)

Mike_g 03-07-2009 05:00 PM

Cool I was just curious.. You explained what I was wondering..
I thought it was odd they were working around the quarter window glass. Especially considering how thorough they seem to be.
Spring fever is kicking in !

Mike, please post a few pics when it's done!...

Talk to you soon...

Claude. ;)

Current Car Craft has a peice on a 60s nova that runs 8s and is a street driven show quality beauty. The rang a bell when writing most fast cars don't have great paint and most cars that look great aren't fast. They deducted this was unless you had been owner a LONG time and got both accomplished. They forgot to mention you could also be in that business..... I'm jealous - my plan was to paint when she turned 20 now I'm lookin at 25.

trbochrgd1 03-11-2009 11:00 PM

I know! That's true, most really fast cars you see have more money in the drive train then in the body. I know it won't be "perfect" but I do want to get it back looking good....On that note, the car is painted and they still has to put the hood, bumpers, glass, etc back on. I was instructed not to come down until it was completely done! Believe me, I wanted to take pictures but I think I was making him to "nervous";). Expecting it to be done for Friday....we'll see....

BrianHynes 03-12-2009 08:29 PM

I always believed that you should let people do what they are good at, and not come a knocking!! I know I do better and faster work when not sidelined/distracted. I'm sure everthing will be just as you want when it's time!:)

Beautiful !

TurboBabe 03-14-2009 01:07 PM

Now the most asked question will be....Is it a show car...or....Is it a race car? Looks beautiful...can't wait to see it in person!

trbochrgd1 03-14-2009 10:42 PM

Thanks Brian and Mike! I really appreciate it!:)

Lorrie, thanks for the compliment! I had to make sure it looked good....Nicole is going to be behind this wheel this year too! :D:D We are so looking forward to Lebanon Valley! Especially now since the car is lookin' good. Maybe that T/A will be there....:p:D

Look great Mike

Wow!!!

That looks nice, as I pick my jaw up off the keyboard. What kind of clear coat is that.

Warning, once you let your wife behind the wheel there is a huge chance you will never race it again. Aske me how I know

JCotton1 03-17-2009 10:17 AM

Sweeeeet Mike, looks great. I got your email... give me a jingle if you get a chance, mid mornings are best...

Thanks so much Sam. That really means alot coming from someone with such an awesome ride! Believe it or not, its Sherwin Williams paint and clear!

LOL! Gee Sam, how do you know?....;):D I think it's great that your wife drives the car. I think I am going to have a blast with Nicole behind the wheel. It's a great feeling have the whole family totally involved. It gives Nicole something to look forward too, not just having to run after the kids the whole time at the track! Plus she lighter than me too!!:p:D

Thanks Jack! Nice to talk to you today. As always, thanks for taking some time to talk to me about the car. Now I just have to sell some more stuff....:)
p.s. Remember to hang on to that Co2 bottle kit for me!;)

toofastforyou 03-18-2009 12:52 PM

Wow, Mike...your car looks great with the new paint!...Can't wait to see it in ''person''!...:D One question though...Are you going to install the factory front air dams for a more ''stock'' look?

Claude ;)

I haven't spoken to the paint shop since I picked it up, I have to ask him how many they did. I haven't touched the finish yet either. He told me in a month to apply a good wax to it. Should really be nice all waxed and polished up!!

I was going to put the old air dams back on the car, but it looks like they have been thrown out at my work.:o I am thinking of the full air dam up front for aerodynamic purposes. I am not really crazy about the looks of it, but it should cut down on some drag on the front end.
