Gtk-850
Is anyone using the new GTK-850 turbo (72mm)? How does it compare to other turbos used?
How is the spool and driveability? Thanks Datar |
Check with Mike Nogradry. I believe that is the turbo he has. Don't know for sure if he has run it prior on his car, 'cause his car is under construction at the moment.

I'm the guy in St Louis with the GT-K 850. This turbo is NASTY. I'm trying to chase down some gremlins in-between snow storms and ice storms:D. I haven't been able to get a decent tune to tell how fast it will spool but the big end is VERY NASTY. Not looking good for weather. 70* today and 10" of ice and snow by Tuesday. Will keep you posted when I figure it out.

The GT-K turbos NORMALLY come with a 4 bolt exhaust housing, so there is no way to get a 1000 with a 850 cover with a standard 3 bolt GN housing. I got an S trim .85 AR. The GT-K 1000 uses an HP76 wheel while the GT-K 850 uses an HP72 wheel. The GT-K cover on the inlet is the same. The only way to get the 1000/850 combo is with a 4 bolt which will get you their new ceramic coated housing.

Any news on how this turbo performs at the track?

I now have a GTK-850! Have to give props to Jack for hooking me up with Turbonetics (Brian Cerny), customer service was great! I should have the car running with the new stroker combo in 2 weeks.
